Oh yes I completely forgot...

As I had rushed off on Holidays after I'd finished my exams, I just realized (after scrolling through my blog) that I'd completely forgotten to show the final Outhouse!

Unfortunately as I am still on Holidays, I do not have the software capable of making my 3D frames into an edit - but as soon as I can I will get it in UDK instead.

For now, I'll post 2 screenshots instead. Then this post will magically be converted into a more suitable post.

Almost newest texture-sheet. I deleted the newest version by mistake. So I'll finish this one again, and apply it to the model, and re-render it - but this time in UDK instead of Maya

Update on the Observatory

Wizard's Observatory
Another update on my personal project:

I have done the very rough layout of the area as well as the individual assets. I have measured them in size in relation to each other, as well as a character - despite at the moment, I am unsure whether I will create a character together with this environment



Together with the rough layout I can begin making individual concept art for most assets, as my goal is to make a very detailed environment, but be smart and re-use textures. The textures will be hand painted. I am currently unsure if I will create bakes for this environment.

Next, is planning out the textures and jumping into asset modelling - but before that time, I might publish a concept or two of the process :)

My quadrupred, 4th semeste project, has been featured in an article at ChaosGroup about The Animation Workshop and the CG study,  together with works from some of my other classmates.
 
ChaosGroup is creators of Vray and other renders, and has described the study with an interview of cordinator Morten Rasmussen.

The character was a designe collarboration with Jules Garreau, and animated by him as well.

Video Game Asset #01


I made this as a challenge to myself and to learn how to do game assets, I've made the concept for an Outhouse, in the World of Warcraft style, and hopefully when I model it and once it's finished it will look like in-game content. I made the concept myself, based on real-life references and game references. Next up, is texturing, and then modelling.



Model WIP: 898 tris - Very early texturing - I can't wait throwing this into the UDK!

Project Q done - and a game update!

I finished my project Q
I designed, sculpted, modelled, textures shading the character  - got the deformations working on the pre-made rig we got from Rich Hurrey. Then the character was added into real life footage, and I composted it to look as close as possible to work with the footage we got. Then I added sounds and effects:

The character was also designed by Jules Garreau, and animated by him as well.

Game update
I am no longer working on Intruder Alert for redMatter - however I have been offered Contract work at Subterranean games, to get back to work on War for the Overworld.

Intruder Alert update

I had the permission to reveal a bit of the work I've been doing on the indie game title Intruder Alert.
These 3 images were at different times last year, 2012.

Rigging /w Rich Hurrey

The base-rig was pre-built by Rich Hurrey, and I adjusted it to my character, using locators and scripts provided by Rich.

Additional rigging, skin-weights/deformations, extra attributes and blend-shapes/sculpts were done by myself.

The rigging course was two amazing weeks, despite all the problems that occured on the way, and Rich showed the fun elements in rigging, which boosted my over-all rigging motivation!

It was great - and huge thanks to Rich Hurrey, he is an amazing teacher!

Project Q

The project for 4th semester is to create a quadruped (4 legged creature.)

I have together with Jules Garreau decided to create a tiger made of Sancai, chinese ceramics.



During the design week. I have worked on finding references, sketching and designing the creature as well as studying lion anatomy.

3rd Semester Project

Trailer Project.
We were to create a re-artdirected trailer of the movie Blade Runner during the entire 3rd semester.
Everything was designed and created by our group, besides music and sound.
